Not quite yet

Well sheesh, when I blogged last about the house, I never thought that our closing would get pushed out!! Yup, just when the keys were about to be handed over to us, some darn package didn't get to us in time for our gazillion signature. Closing a house when you are not physically there is a bit more difficult. Now our new closing date is February 5th :( I know, I know, it's not like we can move in anytime soon haha... We just need to hang tight a lil longer!

Annnnnyway, this upcoming Monday is our "big move." From high gear to crazy gear, we will flight out of Chicago and spend the 25th packing hte house (above pic) in Syracuse and drive back the 26th towards Illinois!!! The 27th, we will most likely rest our aching frames by marinating in front of our TV in our Rockford apt with Shadow :)

Speaking of our little puppy girl, she is doing w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l!!! Her first dog apt went well! She is growing by the minute....4 lbs in 4 days. I think we adopted a monster LOL jk. We found a pet nanny for her (Elizabeth). Shadow will spend 3 days with Elizabeth while we are in Syracuse. Elizabeth is simply a dog lover :) :)

From Rockford Illinois...

Hello y'all! Wow, I've been missing in action. I am feeling behind on my blogging :) I hope that this little update will give you a picture of what's been keeping us busy! So it's BEYOND cold here in Rockford! Ummm... are we still only January??? Living out here in this mid-sized city that's set on both banks of the Rock River in far northern Illinois has pretty much everything that Syracuse had to offer. Rockford is the third largest city in Illinois after Chicago and Aurora. We are currently in the hotel but we move tomorrow into our apartment!! Yay...

Last Saturday was great. Adam traveled all day and, yes, they had him on the ice in the 3rd periode ~ CrAzY. He loves his new team!! Get this; his best friend, who he played with in Ann Arbor Michigan (on Team USA), Jimmy Sharrow, got traded to this exact team in December... How unbelieveable is that?!?! They always talked about being on the same team again but what were the chances. Jimmy is a defense and was previously stationned in Winnipeg and played with the Manitoba Moose. Adam has been getting so much support from the fans. Above, a collage he received this week. Welcome Pineault #10!!!

The lady of the day on January 14th was my aunt Maurise!!! I would have loved to have had this post up much earlier, rather than three days post-birthday. But then, we've been so busy that I just didn't have a chance! Maurise I hope you had a wonderful 60th birthday. I miss you dearly and love you lots!!!

A glimpse of life

I can tell you exactly what I was doing 2 years ago today!!! I was getting on a plane myself to Syracuse, NY. Yes, it was my official move on this same day (January 10th, 2007). Then, it was the end of visiting and/or long distance with Adam :) The above picture was taken with my friend Michelle at the Moncton airport...the only pic I could dig up tonight. So, today....not just one milestone but two!! Thank you for all the kind words of support as we start this next little chapter of hockey life.

Traaaaaade!!!!!

This is a big day. HUGE. Adam got off the phone this morning (just around 8:45am) and got the news that he had been traded. This day will go down as a milestone day for us!!

Shortly after 11:00am, Adam boarded his flight on our new adventure, except wait....ME! What about me LOL I'm kidding. I'm so very happy for my husband as he deserves this new opportunity. I'm proud of him!! And yes I'm going to make a big deal out of this "first" and the moments in life that make you sigh with gratitude (big & small). Rockford picked him up at the airport (in a LIMO) 45 minutes ago. They put him on the gamesheet for tonight's game, so let's see if he'll get there time in!!! GO-Pineault-GO!!!!!!

Nasty Bug

Sorry for the silence lately! Just thought I'd pop up and say hello... that I'm surviving this week, barely. I felt pretty decent on Tuesday, but Wednesday, as I ate my cereal, was a different story. I'd like to thank Vicks NyQuil Medicine for the awesome haze I was in on Wednesday night, but also for the 8 hours of being able to sleep.

May I just say that as I haven't experienced being sick too many times in the past months, I am feeling very extra loved right now? Adam has picked up liquids (yes, Pedialyte) for me to drown myself in, rented us movies, made meals, fetched medicine at all hours, and had a very hermit-y past few days. I love this guy. He makes me feel like he wouldn't want to be anywhere else, and I can assure you that there are plenty more fun things to be doing than hanging out with this slightly cranky sick girl right now :) Adam is playing in Rochester tonight. Knock'em down sweetie!

House News!

We spent the past few days looking at furniture. We got all the estimates back for the minor flaws that came up in our inspection. After submitting the inspection results to the bank, we got news today that they ACCEPTED to pay everything!!!! Yahoo... So things are getting lined up, we're good to go on the loan after taking full advantage of those great mortgage rates!! The final hurdle - closing (January 23rd)!!! Soon, we will line up contractors and jump right into fixing the garage floor. I know, I know, it's only the garage but take a look below...

Since our soon-to-be home was a model house, our garage was used as offices. We need to repair the crack running thru the garage floor & fill various holes. Then epoxy the garage floor with a gray color. The next job will be removing 3 cracked floor tiles in the foyer and a few other little things (i.e. replace broken sprinkler heads). So again, nothing major but every cent counts ;)

Lastly, how exactly do you take care for a palm tree?!?! As I read up on it, I found out that its branches are a symbol of victory. Interesting! Ciao, for now.

Happy New Year!!!

So.... Haaaappppy New Year my Friends! As I sit here on the couch, eating my bowl of cereal, watching The 120th annual march in Pasadena California 2009 Tournament of Rose Parade and thinking my coffee could be a bit stronger today (thank you Darlene & Jamie), I'm thinking that 2009 is off to a pretty great start. It's a nice sunny day! Adam is currently at practice. Oh! By the way, don't judge the above picture taken last night LOL...we were wearing our New Year's Eve party hats. Ya, we kinda look like birds to tell you the truth HA! HA! I hope all of your New Years celebrations were as fun as ours!

Shall we all take a moment and collectively droooool over these pictures, THE actual beach in Florida that Adam and I shall be sunning ourselves on in just a few months?! Yes, please. It's so fun to look forward to this, especially in the midst of cold temperatures and sideways snow storms. Come visit!!!! Ok, I'm getting a little ahead of myself. Nothing is official yet ~ Stay tuned. Again, Happy New Year :)
