From Facebook...

Found this on facebook and thought I'd post it on my blog...

You've travelled all over the map, lived in countless houses/condos/apts, made crazy amounts of chicken & pasta, been able to pack up and move within 1 day, watched a crazy amount of hockey games, scoring and fighting, celebrated all the big wins with beer, been home alone for weeks at a time, and have made the greatest friends ever!! If you're a hockey wife/girlfriend post this to your profile.

You have no idea how many times I've cooked chicken and pasta for the hubs for his pre-game meal lol!!! The hubs had a black eye for Christmas pictures. Many visits to the hospital and many stitches later. The hubs got traded mid-season so we packed and moved within 24 hours of the phone call, ugh! We had ups... We had downs... But it's true, we've met such amazing people along the way and have made life long friends!!

To those who will celebrate Halloween at parties tonight ~ CHEERS & BE SAFE :)

Friday Fashion ~ Sept

More styles from clothing stores around town (Pardubice, Czech Republic). Can you tell by what the mannequins are wearing that it's getting very cold here?! Coats, boots, scarves, hats... Yup! Winter is around the corner. Brrr!!!

Have a great weekend everyone ;)

Walkin' round town

I walk our dog Shadow around Pardubice every day. I don't like to take the same path so I switch it up. This week, I came across the "Veverka Cousin Statue". They invented the plow in 1823. It's an interesting story cuz another man tried to take credit for their unpatented invention. Francis and Vaclav both died in poverty the same year - 1849. The investigation for this dispute was resolved in 1883 where the Veverka Cousin got authorship for the plow. This city is so rich in history... I have much more stories to come!

On our street, there is a store called "US Fashion Store". They sell clothes which includes brands such as; Guess, Abercombie & Fitch, Tommy Hilfiger, etc...

It was a very quiet morning walk on our city streets.. It's cuz today, October 28, is Independent Czechoslovak State Day (or Independence Day in Czech Republic). The day the foundation declared independence from the Hapsburg Empire at the end of World War I.

Chocolate!

(I thought I published this a few days ago ~ oupsie!)
Around this time of year, I'm so use to walking into a grocery store and seeing several monstrous Halloween candy bags for sale. Here in Czech Republic, it's not the case. This country doesn't celebrate Halloween. Kids do not get dressed in costumes and go door-to-door collecting sweets. It will be the first time in my life not seeing trick-or-treaters. Perhaps my lovely blog friends can share lil videos *hint~hint* :)

I thought I'd show you the chocolate and candy isle at our grocery store... Hundreds and hundreds of chocolate bars. Everytime we turn into this isle, I know it's gonna take some time haha! I mean have you ever seen such a variety?! Wowzer!!

Probably our favorite ~ Milka!!! Yuuuuummy!

The Town

We saw "The Town" last night and it was really good. I've never been disappointed in a Ben Affleck movie. He's also a pretty amazing director. Thought it was funny to hear Blake Lively talk with a Boston accent lol!! Good flick!

Just one of those days...

...when I'm missing our house, our truck, our families, our friends, english, french! Our slingbox recently stopped working so there goes our TV. I'm tired of listening to Czech television which I don't understand. Our 2nd laptop died, so we're down to one computer - not easy. Off to dinner with the hubs. Would be better if they would ban smoking here! Well, there you have it folks. My saturday night venting HA!
Have a good one ;)

Have a great weekend everyone :)

First "Hail" Fall

Fall is a short enough season as it is... This morning, I woke up to this on our bedroom window. Hail stones. Ugh! No words...

Fallen Leaves

The little trail in the woods was so quiet during our walk. I can't say it enough, the leaves had such spectacular colors. Doesn't the transition to fall bring some sort of reflection period?! I might not verbalize it here cuz my thoughts may not make sense to you lol!! But let's just say that great life lessons come to us at inopportune times ;)

Yup, we're wearing our winter jackets. The breeze is quite cool and I don't enjoy being cold. You know Adam's favorite thing about fall... The smell of an outdoor fire or woodstove! On my end, I have apples on my mind. I wish I could find an apple orchard here... Anyone??

Hartford Marathon

We are so proud of Adam's sister who completed her first marathon!!! I admire the self-discipline a runner has to compete in a marathon. So much determination. Congratulations and job well done ~ 26.2 miles in 4:13hrs!! You had a great run. Woohoo :)

Horse Races

October brought an awesome sunny Indian summer day for us to enjoy the Pardubice horse races. It was fun and I f-i-n-a-l-l-y got to eat the delicious Trdelnik!!!!!

The very large crowd.

Pics of the race.
The ending was so close but 57 year old Josef Vana won his 7th race as a jockey. He is like a legend in his own lifetime and they unveiled a statue of him at the racecourse.
My Trdelnik moment!!! Yummy!!!

What can I say.... It was aaaaamazing!!!
