L.A. Candy

The Hills will not be the same without her however that doesn't mean she's out of the spotlight! Lauren Conrad's first book L.A. Candy is what I'm currently reading. I really can't comment on it yet because I'm eleven pages deep HA! But I can say that it's satisfying my sweet tooth LOL!!! She has proven to be successful as her debut novel was at the #1 spot on the New York Times Best-Seller list. Also, she's already done with her next book and a third to come.  

On that note, I'm off to read ;)

Roll them jeans (green light)

Just when I thought it was bad when they (whoever "they" are) brought back leg warmers...  Apparently, if you want to be accepted in the Hollywood clique, this is a green light. On my trend scale, it's about a six. I tried to pull it off, per the above pic, but wasn't quite feeling it. I mean, I'll tight roll my jeans and walk around the house. Now, I guess I can do it in public, too! But honestly, I think tight-rolling belongs to the 80's :) What do you think?

SONIC

Last night, we stopped at Sonic for some food. It was my very first time going there and it was so yummy... incredible taste for fast-food!! I was with my girlfriends and I was the one driving. When I got my combo, I put my popcorn chicken & fries on my lap and off we went. As I was eating my meal, I heard a cop car?! Sure enough, he was pulling me over. He walked up to the window and saw my little display of food. 

Cop: "Mame, your vehicle swerved aside abruptly"

Me: "I was munching popcorn chicken and waited for my friend's last minute directions"

Cop: "haha okay, put the food away until you get home"

Me: "I will, sorry, have a good night"

The girls and I were laughing so hard. Yes, I did put the delicious food away. That was my first time at Sonic and I will always have that funny/scary story to share!

Shadow got a new collar today! It's kind of a scary story thought.... This morning, I took her outside and off she bolted after birds!!!!! SNAP went her collar. I was freakin'out! We have no fence and the road was right there. I could feel my heart racing but told myself to TRY and remain calm. Shadow is still a puppy and in training therefore she doesn't always listen to "come here". So, I outsmarted her and said "wanna go to the dog park" and she came running right back! Yaaaaay :) Hey, what ever works, right?!

This is what I rushed to go buy. A smart, spiffy black collar and also efficient for her training. Win/Win!!

p.s. They didn't have pink at the store Tracey LOL....

 

Backsplash

Yesterday, I helped my friend Melissa finish her first back-to-school home improvement project ~ the backsplash! It totally transformed her kitchen into a stylish space. The "fascade" she chose was a plastic panel that was quick and easy to install that provided the classic look of traditional tin.....at a fraction of the cost of course!

Where O Where...

...can I find these!! I ♥ my Mr. Clean MagicReach tool. It's a must have! However, since using my last tub/shower pad, I've been having such a hard time finding refill pads?!? Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, etc... Name it! But still no luck :( 

Missing my hubby...

With the hockey season almost upon us, this is where Adam is getting ready for training camp ~ Boston University. Although we currently don't have a "home" yet, we know the time will come and are embracing uncertainty which is not always easy to do ;) 

I'm a huge fan of Big Brother 11 therefore it's been on my TV a lot. I use to watch the "BB After Dark" show for hours on end. But Adam and I downsized our Direct TV package to basic because we will be leaving for the hockey season soon and I lost Showtime 2 - BOO!!!! I really want Jeff or Jordan (above) to win. That would be the perfect combination ♡. 

I was with a group of friends at Outback Steakhouse on Saturday and something goofy happened to me. They told the waitress it was my birthday ~ totally not my birthday! When they brought out the cake, I started to laugh and felt my face getting red. Thank goodness it was late and that they didn't have enough staff to sing LOL.... Embarrassing!!

Good Times, Crazy Times

So it's Sunday. 11am. I've been neglectful, lately, but with good reason. Kelsey is visiting and what a wonderful time we have had this week. Tomorrow is her last full day here BOO!

Annnnnnyway, the cap to our awesome week was going to Disney World, the beach and yesterday... her BIRTHDAY!!! I will post pics. But mostly it was just so much fun to have her around, talk and laugh. Funny girl, that one :)

So, today, some much needed R&R after a late night. We are going to rest our frames for a couple hours by marinating in front of the TV. That's about it from here ~ Happy Sunday ☺

Raku

Last night, we ate at Raku Sushi Bar with Kristy, Kevin & sweet baby Keaton! This was our first time eating there and we were very happy with their fresh sushi. Soooooo delicious! It was a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. We had good conversations with great friends! Lots-O-Laughing :)

Margarita Spa

My friend Kim hosted a "Margarita Spa Party" last night. I gotta tell you, it was amazing!!! We drank Margaritas while the mobile spa consultants pampered us. HEAVEN! I have no pics because we all looked pretty silly with white lip peels, huge headbands, cucumber eye patches and so on... But, all I know is that I felt refreshed & relaxed!

I had never heard of BeautiControl. They have different spa theme ideas or you can create your own theme. You supply the party, BeautiControl supplies the spa. Margarita spa would have been my pick also, however they have; Spajama, Wine & Cheese Lover's Spa, Dessert Spa, etc...

It was SPAtacular!!!!

Weekend Getaway!

We had such a great, great time for 3 days up in Orlando at Portofino Bay this past weekend. Above is where we stayed. A taste of Italy!! 

A sweet treat for our anniversary from the hotel staff!! I love love love strawberries dipped in chocolate. Let me tell you that these didn't stand a chance and within seconds were GONEZO!Arm shot, as we waited for the water taxi to bring us to City Walk. It was about 100℉ outside! Needless to say we were HOT... We couldn't wait to get our hands on a slushy drink.Adam models in front of the Portofino Bay Resort. Beautiful place. This is our first night there, and we were off to a nice dinner to let the celebrating begin. P.S. How handsome is my husband... :)Water Taxi ride up to City Walk. The serene grounds... although I failed to get a good couple shot haha. Emeril's Restaurant is where we had dinner. D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!! We spent Saturday afternoon at the pool. Notice Adam in the above picture ~ where's Waldo!! LOL
Margaritaville is where we spent a few hours people watching!! Isn't that fun haha... It was like a tiki-bar on the strip. Perfect place for a nice drink! We really enjoyed that & great conversations!!This is the "hectic" City Walk where you can find Universal Studios and so much more...
