U.S. Citizenship Exam

I will need to take a U.S. Citizenship Exam. I've been gathering some questions here and there on internet from people who've taken this exam in the past. Thought I'd get ahead of the game {ya, right}. Well, today on the front page of Yahoo, I saw the below video. From what I gather, the exam has changed considerably. I'm guessing it's because the government wants to achieve it's goal of better controlling the visa process but holy am I suppose to go back to school (in the U.S.) in order to know all this?! I mean, I did all of my schooling in Canada and of course we learnt some stuff on U.S. history and the U.S. government but the items in this video are hard...

Would you be able to answer this?!

I guess if every American took this test, the most of them would probably fail.

But anyway, I think I would be able to answer a few questions right even if I've never cared about the US. I don't think knowing every single date is needed, we all know Madison was a presindent and a Federalist Papers author. And also, I feel like I've heard about 27 amendments to the constitution during a Geography lesson, the number reminds me something.

Don't be scared, you'll pass it!

Ive never been to the states...yet I would pass this. I had to learn the whole US history & government at school... in details! Pretty crazy. But Im glad I learned all that.

I wanna move to states one day. Hopefully. Will I have to take this exam too? Just curious, haha :)

I understand how you feel Nic. Growing up in the french school system like we did... we didn't learn ANY of that stuff. Our history consisted of Acadians and French history and we didn't cover the presidents or the amendments to the constitution in the US. Geography was all about Canada, not much about the US. So I feel your pain.

BUT, I also know how smart you are. Once you set your mind to it, you will do great. Just think of it like a university exam. Get the materials, cram, and go write! ;) I have faith that you'll do wonderful!

Love you, xoxox
