Bratislava AGAIN...

We traveled 3 1/2 hrs (each way) to Bratislava this week. We went to get our visa to be able to stay in Czech Republic for more than 90 days. It was a long day which ended, well...not so good.

Finally, we arrive at the embassy of Czech Republic just on time for our appointment.

We walk up the stairs and wait to be called at this little window. Now for the bad part...

They called me up first, so I answer questions through the window. I thought it was going well until I get a reject for a visa!! REJECT!!!!! My blood started to boil, I wasn't happy. The team was responsible for our papers since everything was in Czech language. We assumed they had all their ducks in order. They sent photocopies of our documents and the embassy requires the original. The same papers which Adam has been asking for since August. The hubs got accepted and his visa is approved. I was told I have to travel 7 hrs again to return with the proper documents. UGH!

You may be thinking "so what else do you have to do?!". We have our friends who've traveled from Florida and I'm so scared that I will have to go while they are still visiting. This would mean loosing one day with them. Hoping it will be scheduled once they are gone. Will keep you posted!

ughhhH!!!! I'm so sorry babe.... this makes my blood boil too... I was denied twice in Russia.. and had to stay in Stockholm by myself for 3 weeks.. and of course pay for hotel the whole time too.. These teams are ridic with this kind of stuff. I'm sure they've done it plenty of times.. how can't they just get it right?

You need a visa to be able to stay here? That's news for me. I had no idea. It's kinda strange...

But yea, that's how things work here. These things hardly ever work the way you want them to work. Especially with offices and stuff. They always find a reason why things can't happen.

I hope everything will be fine with your visa and everything :)

I know that's aggravating I just went through a similiar experience with my passport in Baghdad. I hope it gets worked out soon because it's very stressful. Good luck!

Oh my gosh! This is crazy and I'm sure you are stressing out! Hang in there...it will all get worked out!
We had to go through the same thing when we lived on the island. They don't come beating on your door when your 90 days are up so as long as you can get it, then I think you will be ok. Sorry you had to go through this
Please keep us updated!

Ugh frustrating! I went through the same stuff when I was trying to make sure my Swedish citizenship was still valid and get it for my son. They wanted us to travel to the embassy in LA instead of going to the one here in Denver..huge mess! Hopefully you will get it sorted out soon!
